En la subasta de Arte Contemporáneo que celebró Sotheby´s en Londres el pasado 10 de febrero, superó en 10 millones de libras la cifra estimada (£32.157.000-44.986.000). Vendió obra de arte contemporáneo por valor de de 61.461.160 euros (£54.074.450/ $84.761.700)
Este volumen total de venta supone el segundo más elevado conseguido en una venta de Arte Contemporáneo en el mes de febrero de la casa de subastas Sotheby’s de Londres. La subasta registró los índices de venta más elevados para una subasta en esta categoría: 97,9% por lote y 99,4% por valor. Además se establecieron precios record para obra de 21 artistas.
Entre las obras más caras hay que destacar Willem de Kooning, “Untitled XIV, 1983” este óleo fue a parar a una colección privada europea tras rematarse en €4,502,367 (£3,961,250 / $6,209,259). Yves Klein, con su obra «F 88, 1961», también se quedó en manos privadas europeas por 3,738,570 euros (£3,289,250 / $5,155,899).
Lucio Fontana protagonizó varias ventas importantes de las cuales cuatro de ellas se encuentran en la lista de los diez mejores remates de la sesión. La obra “Concetto Spaziale, New York, 1962” se adjudicó a un comprador anónimo por teléfono cerrando la puja en 3,483,971 euros (£3,065,250 / $4,804,779). Ligeramente inferior con un remate de 3,102,073 euros (£2,729,250 / $4,278,099) se remató otra obra de Lucio Fontana, “Concetto Spaziale, Ritratto di Carlo Cardazzo, 1956”. Una acuarela de Fontana, “Concetto Spaziale Attese, 1968”, se remató en 2,465,575 euros (£2,169,250 / $3,400,299). Y un cobre titulado, “Concetto Spaziale, 1964”, del mismo autor se quedó en una colección privada europea por 2,338,276 euros (£2,057,250 / $3,224,739).
Otro remate interesante lo protagonizó el óleo de Peter Doig, “Saint Anton (Flat Light), 1995-1996” con el precio de 3,229,372 euros (£2,841,250 / $4,453,659). El mismo remate obtuvo el óleo de Lucian Freud, “Self Portrait, circa 1978” y la obra de Piero Manzoni “Achrome, 1958”. Para la obra de Gerhard Richter, “Abstraktes Bild, 1988, 680-2” un comprador privado americano no dudó en pagar 2,847,474 euros (£2,505,250 / $3,926,979).
